How far must we go to feel free?

A million miles or a single step, wouldn’t matter to me.
See - I’ve been a prisoner of my own conscience
I’ve drowned with these chains, as they pull me down
I struggled to reach the surface
I craved for a breath of liberation - and –
I suffered these waves of torment, all alone, and yet,
all I ever wanted was to be strong enough to face them alone –
Because freedom - is only earned - alone.

To carve a new path in paradox ambitiousness
This greed of excellence
Deprives our nature of humanity

Yet so naive and pure
Ambitions based in dishonesty
We substitute our insufficiency
With black scars
And when the judgement day comes
We stand there numbed
In the glimpse of our demise


In the deep blue of our endless strife
In an ocean of a predetermined fate
Our breath keeps running low
Yet for to rise above
We must break and let go
